Dual filter housing assemblies can also be used as high flow rate simplex filtration systems. Filter bags are limited to a maximum flow rate of about 180 GPM (largest size, #2, 7" dia. x 32" length) depending upon the fluid type and retention level required. Pairing filter housings together provides an economical way of handling higher flow rates and enables a longer time between bag replacements. There is actually no limit to the number of housings that can be joined together. The eleven bag system shown to the right is capable of filtering nearly 2,000 GPM. One advantage to this approach is the ability to isolate individual filter housings for cleaning without disrupting the flow through the other housings. It also provide a degree of flexibility for future growth in filtration demand by simply adding additional filter housings as needed.
